Anup Bagchi is the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Securities. In his 17 year career with ICICI Bank, Anup has held various key positions in the bank in the field of Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Treasury. Previously, as the Executive Director of ICICI Securities Limited he pioneered the seamless online broking offering through ICICIdirect.com. Anup has been honored with The Asian Banker Promising Young Banker Award. He was also recognized as one of India’s Hottest Young Executives by Business Today. Anup received his degrees from IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore.
“Kris” Gopalakrishnan served as the Vice-Chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and the chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys from 2007 to 2011. Kris is one of the co-founders of Infosys. Recognized as a global business and technology thought leader, he was voted the top CEO (IT Services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives and selected as one of the winners of the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia in 2011. He also was selected to Thinkers 50, an elite list of global business thinkers, in 2009. He was elected president of India's apex industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2013-14, and served as one of the co-chairs of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014. In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Mr. Gopalakrishnan the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honour.
Sudhir specialises in identifying disruptive high growth technology firms with a strong leadership team, and helps them grow rapidly. Since 1998 Sudhir and his team have advised on investments into 60 firms across Digital Consumer, Enterprise Software and Healthcare Sectors. Key investments include FlipKart (India’s leading e-Commerce player), Myntra (Fashion & Sports e-Commerce), Manthan (a global Analytics product play), Perfint (a global leader in image guided oncology), Aujas (a global security firm), Newgen (a global software product leader), Yatra (a leading Online Travel Company) and Mindtree Consulting. Other Portfolio includes Lenskart, Zivame, amongst others. In 2001, Sudhir was recognized by Red Herring as one of the leading venture capitalists in the country. He has been named among the Top Ten IT Professionals by Dataquest and by Bloomberg UTV as ‘’Visionary Venture Capitalist” in 2011. In addition to leading IDG Ventures India Advisors, Sudhir serves on the Asia Advisory Board of EMPEA (Emerging Markets Private Equity Association).
Rajiv Lochan is the Managing Director and CEO of Kasturi & Sons Ltd (most famously known as The Hindu Group of Publications in India). He heads all non-editorial operations and is the first non-family member on the Board in the company’s 137-year history. Rajiv also devotes time to the social sector in the areas of public health and financial inclusion. He is a Trustee Board member of IKP Trust, a not-for-profit organisation focussed on leveraging knowledge and technology to drive innovation in public health. He is also on the Board of IFMR Trust Financial Holdings, an entity focussed on delivering financial products and services to the bottom of the pyramid in rural geographies in India. Rajiv is an alumnus partner of McKinsey’s India practice and one of the firm’s founding partners of its Chennai practice. At McKinsey, Rajiv served over 30 institutions, including 25 banks and financial institutions in India, South-east Asia and the US. Prior to McKinsey, Rajiv worked for American Express Company in New York. He holds an undergraduate degree from IIT, Madras, and an MS from MIT, Cambridge, MA, and an MBA from the Columbia Business School in New York.
Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwala is a currently an Institute Chair professor at IIT Madras where he leads the Telecommunications and Computer Networks (TeNeT) group. He has been instrumental in leading several efforts in incubation and creation of start-ups at IIT Madras. In 2006 he conceptualized the idea of setting up a society for the incubation of rural technologies and businesses: IITM's Rural Technology and Business Incubator. Currently, he is the vice-Chairman of IITM’s incubation cell. Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala has been awarded Padma Shri in the year 2002 and the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 1998 besides several other awards and prizes. He has been awarded Honorary Doctorates by the Institute of Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2008 and University of Maine, USA in 2010. He was a member of the Prime Minister's Scientific Advisory Committee from 2004-14.
