Lieutenant General A Arun has so many feathers on his hat - from the Sena medal for his gallantry to the North Star Medal of Excellence. He is also adorned with the Yudh Seva Medal and the Vishisht Seva Medal for showing outstanding leadership and service during conflict. With multiple Masters degrees ranging from Defence and Strategic Management to Creative Writing, General Arun has about 37 years of varied experience, across diverse challenging roles. This passionate public speaker and a prolific short storyteller has conducted over 800+ sessions on personality development and leadership development in schools, colleges, corporates and the Army. Currently, he serves as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) for Dakshin Bharath Area.
Starting in a small apartment in the suburbs of Chennai in 1996, Zoho has grown today to be a privately-held and profitable multi-national company. Sridhar Vembu, the co-founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation, is a recipient of the Padma Shri award in 2021 and the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 2019. Known for his unconventional choices, Sridhar started a product company when service companies were much sought after in the IT sector. In 2005, he started the Zoho Schools of Learning where high school students were trained and employed in the company. Currently, 10% of Zoho’s workforce constitute Zoho graduates. In another trailblazing move, Sridhar opened new offices in small towns and suburbs, looking to create decentralised employment opportunities. In 2016, the Tenkasi office of Zoho launched Zoho Desk, a product developed entirely in rural Tamil Nadu. This crafty software developer believes in Make in India and is passionate about building social entrepreneurship amongst the youth.
